But they do look cool, and they do sound great, and I don’t know, man, that just presses a little pleasure button in my brain and makes me marginally happy. They aren’t meaningfully better at typing than the alternatives. I can’t justify my fascination with mechanical keyboards in any practical way. Keychron K2: the best entry-level mechanical keyboard Photo: Keychron $25.99 at Amazon Best mechanical keyboards It has all of the comforts of a high-quality keyboard with none of the drabness. In addition to being - and I cannot stress this enough - extremely aesthetic, the keys are super responsive and satisfying to clack, and it’s got a built-in wrist rest that is comfortable and ergonomic. When I’m typing, the keys light up with a vibrant ocean blue, delayed so that they flare up and disappear as I type. At rest, it’s light orange with a few select keys (WASD, volume up and down) highlighted in neon violet. I programmed this dream Razer BlackWidow Chroma keyboard with a variety of lighting effects. (Literally all of my other gaming accessories are angular and black with some neon green accents, and they’re perfectly functional but they’re not very fun.) This keyboard is definitely a Gamer Girl accessory in the “just make it pink!” trend, but I’m a gamer girl, gosh darn it, and I like this bright pink keyboard. $76.99 at Newegg Razer BlackWidow Chroma – Pink Gaming Keyboard Photo: Razer The software has also been very reliable over the years. It’s also available in a full range of Cherry MX switches, including the smooth and quiet Cherry MX Silent switches, also known as the Pink switches. There’s also a metal rocker for volume, a full slate of media keys, a big friendly mute button, and built-in dimmer switches so you don’t have to futz with the software when it gets dark. The feature that I enjoy the most is the aluminum frame, which raises the keys up a fair bit and makes for easy cleaning underneath. (While I haven’t yet tried the second-generation MK.2 model, I’ve every confidence that it’s just as good or better than the original.) The Corsair K70 is pretty much my go-to recommendation for solid gaming keyboards. What one person is looking for in a keyboard for their flight simulator cockpit might be totally wrong for someone who wants a new keyboard for playing Overwatch.Ĭonsider the Polygon staff a small sample size of experts, here to recommend our favorite keyboards for each of our specific needs. Product recommendations aren’t one-size-fits-all. Still others just want something functional and inconspicuous. Many of us are dedicated to our personal curated aesthetics, with custom keycaps or all-pink accessories. Some of us prefer that our keys sound as clicky as possible, while others dream of typing silently. It also may not shock you to learn that those strong opinions often vary wildly from person to person. It probably comes as no surprise that we at Polygon have strong opinions about the keyboards we use every day.

I only tried it after owning several other prime lenses in similar focal lengths but was immediately surprised by what great value it offers.Īt 28mm it offers an excellent everyday focal length (not too wide or too telephoto) and happens to be very compact. It is inexpensive, fast (max aperture f/2), and offers great performance. The Sony 28mm f/2 is a favorite lens that has been used on the a7 series of cameras for almost 5 years. Since we’re looking for the iPhone 7 to stop receiving major software updates, it’s likely that the current iPod touch will continue receiving iOS updates for another year or two at least. It’s rumored that iOS 16 will drop support for the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and first-gen SE, but the current iPod touch would still be supported. The current version of iOS (15.2) supports iPhones from a year earlier. The current iPod touch launched in 2019 with an A10 Fusion chip that debuted in the iPhone 7 in 2016. You could reasonably guess that the current iPod touch has another year left in the tank, but how does processor support look? iPod touch has the same processor as iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus That’s when the 7th and current generation iPod touch appeared, and now it’s just a few months shy of turning three. The 6th generation iPod touch extended its lifetime to four years as the current model until software support became an issue. The next two iPod touch models each stuck around for three years before being upgraded. In 2010, the iPhone 4 happened, and in 2011 it gained Verizon support after years of AT&T exclusivity in the US. The first four iPod touch models had one year between each version. It’s easier to look at iPod touch release dates historically or project iOS version support for current models. Let’s face it: In the era of modern smartphones, we just don’t see iPod leaks drop like they once did. Yet as the years go by, the possibility that there won’t be seems ever stronger. The question of “will there ever be another iPod touch?” is one that is older than the iPod touch 7. Now let’s return from that nostalgia trip that made me feel a bit dusty myself. Now, just like in Apple’s retail stores, the iPod touch just sits on a shelf collecting dust mostly. Newer versions came back in my life for my kids before the iPad lineup matured enough to have more affordable versions. I graduated from iPod touch life with the iPhone 4. The iPod touch was actually a pretty great device for a freshman in college living on campus with wifi available everywhere – especially if your carrier wasn’t AT&T. (You also paid for iPod software updates for the touch back then. It would be another two years before I had my first iPod touch.īy then I had gone through a couple Android smartphones (running Cupcake) that I themed like an iPhone, but my iPod touch was how I experienced what we now call iOS. I was 17 when the original iPod touch came out, and the iPhone was nowhere near attainable for me. Things really got good the next year when the App Store launched. Meanwhile, the iPod touch ran the same operating system as the iPhone, featured a 3.5-inch touch screen, and included wifi for Safari, YouTube, and something called the iTunes® Wi-Fi Music Store. The iPod lineup that year also included a new iPod classic and an iPod nano that played video on a two-inch display. For context, Apple was celebrating 100 million iPods sold and 1 million iPhones sold during the same week that the iPod touch debuted. It was also the most advanced digital music player by leaps and bounds at a time when the iPod and iTunes were still revolutionizing the music experience. The first-gen iPod touch, however, was $299 for 8GB (compared to $599 with a two-year contract for the iPhone) and disconnected from the complexity of carriers. The iPhone was brand new, priced at $499 and up with a two-year contract, and limited to select carriers globally. The iPod touch was legendary when it premiered in September 2007. Who knows! Not me, but it’s fun to think about. That’s purely my hunch, however, and an 8th-gen iPod touch with a processor upgrade and not much else is totally possible! Maybe Apple would even bring its new midnight and starlight colors to the iPod touch. I would sooner bet that the iPod touch 7 languishes until it loses support for the newest iOS version than wager that a new iPod touch is coming. All signs point to the iPod touch maintaining its status as a product that remains in Apple’s lineup, but there are no rumors of an iPod touch 8 ever existing. That’s enough time for a newborn baby to learn to walk and communicate, so that must mean the iPod touch 8 is coming this year, right?Ībsolutely not. This upcoming May will mark three years since Apple released the 7th generation iPod touch. Physical disabilities include blindness, deafness, and mobility limitations. Your own a service dog that is fully trained to assist with that disability. You must have a physical or mental health disability. There are two aspects to qualifying for a service dog: However, there are exceptions: Certain landlords are exempt, such as owner-occupied buildings with no more than four units and single-family houses sold or rented by the owner without the use of an agent. The Fair Housing Act applies to most types of housing, including rentals, condos, co-ops, and HOAs. What type of housing is covered by Fair Housing rules for service dogs? For example, California, New York, and Florida each have housing laws that recognize and protect service dog owners. These laws often mirror HUD’s protections. In addition, many states have enacted their housing laws that protect service dog owners, adding an additional layer of protection. The Fair Housing Act is applicable to every state in the United States. Department of Housing (HUD) issues guidelines that instruct housing providers on accommodating tenants with service dogs or psychiatric service dogs. The Fair Housing Act is a federal law that protects disabled tenants from discrimination. What housing laws protect service dog owners? We’ll explain these housing laws, how you qualify as a service dog owner, and what rights you have as a tenant. Service dog owners also can’t be charged any fees or deposits by a housing provider. Under housing laws, service dogs are not considered “pets” and are exempt from most pet policies, such as rules that restrict the size and weight of animals in a building. Department of Transportation’s regulations.īut did you know federal and state housing laws also protect that service dogs? If you own a service dog, your animal must be allowed to live with you even if your building bans pets. Service dogs can also board flights free of charge according to the U.S. Service dog and psychiatric service dog owners have the right under the Americans with Disabilities Act to access public areas and venues that normally don’t allow pets. As Yu-Yu Hakusho’s second saga, the infamous Dark Tournament is the most popular arc in the series, with a unique angle that helps set it apart from typical anime tournaments of power. Yu-Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament arc is the quintessential tourney arc in anime, so there will be a lot at stake when it makes its on-screen debut. Considering the magnitude of the source material, Netflix's adaptation must include the following key elements if it wants to achieve success. With its tournament arcs, addictive storytelling, and iconic ensemble, Yu-Yu Hakusho set the tone for future Shonen like Hunter X Hunter, making it one of the most influential anime of all time. Its tendency to counter its striking action sequences with heartfelt stories and existential themes helped set it apart from other popular Shonen at the time. With its distinctive style, visuals, and high-flying action, the Yu-Yu Hakusho anime made a name for itself during the 90s. Still, One Piece season 2's renewal shows that the streaming platform has learned from previous mistakes. Ignoring the aspects that once made an anime series famous often means the live-action show version will not work. Shows like Cowboy Bebop prove that even the existence of a loyal fanbase isn't enough to save a series that strays too far from its source material. Netflix's live-action anime adaptations have not always been good. Yu-Yu Hakusho is the next anime in line for a live-action adaptation, and if Netflix wants this cult classic to reach the same heights as One Piece, there are some key aspects that the series must get right about the anime. |
